Today is the first day of Fashion Revolution Week. It campaigns for greater transparency in the fashion supply chain. Starting in 2013, Fashion Revolution has designated the anniversary of the Rana Plaza Disaster in Bangladesh, which killed 1,138 people and injured many more on 24 April 2013.

Long-term supplier relationships in Finland, Estonia and Lithuania
Globe Hope bags and accessories are manufactured under subcontract in Finland and the Baltic countries. We foster responsible production and long contract horizons. Making new products from recycled and surplus materials needs professional skill. For this reason, Globe Hope fosters long-term supplier relationships.

Traceable production process in India and Bangladesh
The recycled yarn used in our clothing is manufactured in India under the supervision of Finnish Pure Waste Textiles. After this, the yarn is sent to Bangladesh where our other Finnish partner Tuli Trading supervises the continuation of the process by transforming the yarn into fabric and finished clothes. The entire production process is GRS-certified.The GRS is an international product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.
So why do we produce our clothes in Bangladesh, that has such a sad history with fashion industry? Globe Hope’s concern for the environment and social responsibility is global, not just centered on Finland and Europe. Large rivers are formed from small streams. By being involved in wider cooperation, Globe Hope wants to offer sustainable options to a wider consumer market. Since our Finnish-owned partner controls the GRS-certified production process in Bangladesh, it makes sense to continue the production process as close as possible to the source of yarn, India. This also ensures that we can monitor the whole process.
